On July 27,1953, the Korean Armistice Agreement ended more than three years of fighting against communist expansionism on the Korean Peninsula. Since June 25,1950, National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day has honored the brave men and women who secured freedom and democracy in the Republic of Korea, especially the more than 23,600 Americans killed in action and the more than 103,000 who were wounded in that conflict. We will always remember their service and great sacrifice.
